ALASKA TRIP 2006 - Photos

We took a trip this fall (2006) to Alaska for a set of seminars. Our family had never been there before, so it was a highlight of the year to be able to go!

We left late in the evening on Thursday, September 21st.  We made it to Muncho Lake in Northern BC by Friday evening. We then spent Sabbath in the area and got to see some stone sheep and caribou. We drove on a little ways and parked for lunch. While there, Ron, Shellie, and Krystal went for a hike up one of the ridges. It was a lot of fun and good exercise.

Then we drove a on for a ways to Liard Hot Springs, and enjoyed the warm water. And that night there was a beautiful show of Northern Lights! We had a wonderful, restful Sabbath. God is good.

For Sunday morning breakfast we had some special guests! Some “Camp robbers” (other wise known as Canada Jays) were very eager to help us eat our food. Also, there was a sweet little squirrel that came up on the table to see what there was. We put peanut butter on a fork for him, which he enjoyed very much!

As we continued on our trip, we stopped at Teslin Lake, Watson Lake and the sign post forest, as well as some other places. We then met up with Amber and Jed in Whitehorse (from their Honeymoon), and continued on altogether.

We arrived in Wasilla, Alaska on Thursday, September 28. The seminar there went well, and the Lord blessed our efforts. People stood to recommit their lives to God. There are a lot of hurting people…and it is a joy to see them give God all of their problems! At each seminar we did a Friday night meeting, Sabbath morning, one concert, two afternoon meetings, and a meeting on Sunday morning. And while we were at Wasilla, Sonia got to see her best friend from elementary school, whom she had not seen for twenty-five years.

On Tuesday, we went down to Anchorage and then to Seward to see the ocean. We had lots of rain that day, but it was still pretty.  That short trip went well all except for the flat tire that we got on the car dolly.

We then went back to Wasilla and up around through Fairbanks and back down to Tok for our next seminar. The Lord blessed that seminar as well, and the people were very nice.

We then went back down to Whitehorse for our last seminar. While there, we got some snow! The people were interested in the message, and some recommitted their lives to the Lord, praise God!

We had a safe trip back home and we saw lots of Caribou on the way. We really enjoyed the trip.
